Using a Roulette Betting System

No-one can guarantee that a particular roulette betting system will ensure that a player wins, and players should beware of betting systems that make such claims. No casino would be able to survive is there was a betting system that could beat the house all the time. Casino's have to have the house edge in order to continue to operate. Certain systems, such as the Martingale system, would be able to work if players were allowed to place unlimited bets, and had unlimited funds to do so. No-one has unlimited funds, and casinos place maximum betting limits in order to protect themselves. However, players may still choose to play according to one or other of the betting systems in order to play the game in a more structured and enjoyable way.

Martingale

The Martingale betting system is probably the most well-known roulette betting system. It is works on the basis of doubling-up, which some call the Gambler's Fallacy. The bet is used for even money bets, such as odds or evens, highs or lows, and reds or blacks. The player chooses one bet and sticks with it throughout their gaming session. The player places a bet, and each time they lose, they double their bet; each time they win, they return to their original bet, keeping their profits. The theory behind the Martingale system is that when playing long enough, it is not possible to lose every bet. Even if a player is on a losing streak, eventually their bet will come up, and they will make at least a small profit. As mentioned above, this system is not always a practical one because bankrolls are not endless, and casinos have betting limits placed on roulette bets.

Oscar's Grind

This betting system is one of the most conservative betting systems that is used for roulette games. With some luck thrown in, players will win, however, the odds still favor the casino, as with all other betting systems. In order to follow the Oscar's Grind betting system, players bet one unit on an even-money bet. If the player wins, they keep their profits and place another single unit bet on the next spin. There is no sequence to be followed when a bet is won. However, when a player loses, their next bet to be placed should be the same size as the previous bet that was lost. If the player wins that bet, they will have won one unit more than they had lost up to that spin. Players are playing in order to make a one unit profit at any time. Many believe that this system is one of the best of the known roulette systems.

Other Roulette Systems

Players can try many other systems if they wish to do so, ranging from the Anti-Martingale, Betting on Red, the Combo, the Andrucci System, the Labouchere (or the Cancellation) System, the D'Alembert System, the Fibonacci System, Using the Dozen Bet, the 1st and 3rd Column Strategy, Mechanical Strategies and more.
